Emergency Operating Plan Resolution

The Claysburg Kimmel School Board of Directors hereby resolves and establishes the following resolution and expectations for all members, administration and any school district staff or volunteer working within the district. This Resolution is issued in concert with the Safe and Supportive Schools (SAS) doctrine of the Pennsylvania Department of Education as well as Pennsylvania’s Right to Know Law exemption of safety and security information from public disclosure. 65 P.S. §67.708(b).

Any person having knowledge of the District’s Emergency Operation Plan security measures, or other technical, architectural or procedural measure, other than those appropriate for public access such as sign-in and sign-out procedures, is strictly forbidden from divulging any such information or other sensitive information contained within the Emergency Operations Plan.

The District further recognizes that maintaining a safe and supportive school environment is a critical key function of all employees. The divulging of any information by any employee not previously authorized to do so by the District is considered a severe safety violation that places children, staff and visitors at risk. All Administrators are directed to address any unauthorized disclosure of emergency operation measures in accordance with the District’s employee disciplinary policies.

Furthermore it is expectation of the Board of School Directors that any/all school directors will keep confidential, and will not divulge, any specifics of the safe schools program without prior authorization from the Board.
