The induction ceremony for the new members of the Claysburg Kimmel Chapter of the National Honor Society was held on Monday, March 14 at 7:00 PM in the high school auditorium.   The featured speaker for the evening’s ceremony was Claysburg Kimmel alumnus, and former Claysburg Kimmel teacher, Mr. Daniel Christ who spoke about the meaning behind the four pillars of National Honor Society: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character, and how the qualities of all four pillars are applicable to everyone.  Pictured from Left to right are: Evan Ritchey, Andrew Imler, Karly Kriedler, Jocelyn Shultz, Jennica Hunter, Megan Hartman, Haley Jenkins, Shadey Claycomb, and Maggie Knisely

Wild by Design

On Monday February 9th our Elementary School Hosted the Carnegie Science Center Mobile Unit. Students in grades K-6 participated in the “Wild by Design” mobile lab. FBLA students from Claysburg Kimmel High School assisted with the stations throughout the day.  Thank you to the Claysburg Education Foundation for supporting this outstanding day in the wild!

Trooper McGarvey talking to students about Camp Cadet

February 12, 2018: This morning, Pennsylvania State Trooper McGarvey met with current 7th through 9th grade students who reside in Bedford county to discuss an exciting opportunity to attend the Pennsylvania State Police Camp Cadet program this summer.  This camp is only open to 7th, 8th and 9th grade students who reside in Bedford county. Claysburg-Kimmel Embraces STEM Education

A team of Claysburg Kimmel teachers and administrators are participating in STEM strategic planning, with the goal of transforming the approach to STEM related education at the high school.   On Monday, January 22, the team participated in the first of three workshops sponsored by the Carnegie Science Center of Pittsburgh.  The Carnegie STEM Excellence Pathway initiative helps school districts create goals that will strengthen STEM education within schools.
