 ASSISTANT BUSINESS MANAGER


Job Summary:           This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits.  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Related Field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Job Goal:       Perform general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, payroll and accounts payable.  To administer the Board policies and business affairs of the district; to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available.

Reports To:    Business Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for preparation and maintenance of district payroll, employee benefits, and personnel records.
  2. Responsible for accounts payable functions, including disbursement of funds, and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  3. Aids Business Manager in development, planning, and preparation of district budget and implementation following Board adoption.
  4. Assists Business Manager in preparation of audit work papers and state financial reports.
  5. Acts as a liaison to district staff, students, and the community.
  6. Perform other duties pertaining to the business of the district as required by law or as the Board of Directors or Business Manager may direct.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  1. Working knowledge of automated accounting systems.
  2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
  3. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  4. Ability to think clearly, calculate accurately, and be precise in working with numbers.
  5. Ability to use good judgement when decisions are needed.
  6. Ability to employ reasoning skills.
  7. Demonstrate initiative.
  8. Knowledge of governmental accounting policies and practices established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
