ASSISTANT BUSINESS MANAGER
Job Summary: This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Related Field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Job Goal: Perform general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, payroll and accounts payable. To administer the Board policies and business affairs of the district; to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available.
Reports To: Business Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparation and maintenance of district payroll, employee benefits, and personnel records.
- Responsible for accounts payable functions, including disbursement of funds, and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Aids Business Manager in development, planning, and preparation of district budget and implementation following Board adoption.
- Assists Business Manager in preparation of audit work papers and state financial reports.
- Acts as a liaison to district staff, students, and the community.
- Perform other duties pertaining to the business of the district as required by law or as the Board of Directors or Business Manager may direct.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Working knowledge of automated accounting systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to think clearly, calculate accurately, and be precise in working with numbers.
- Ability to use good judgement when decisions are needed.
- Ability to employ reasoning skills.
- Demonstrate initiative.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting policies and practices established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
