CLAYSBURG-KIMMEL Elementary School

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) & Students:
Schools in Pennsylvania will remain closed until further notice because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, Claysburg-Kimmel Elementary will remain in the Phase I model until Easter Break (Wednesday, April 8).  Please continue to have your student visit the elementary website to continue completing suggested at home work (see link below).

Claysburg-Kimmel School District will be entering into a Phase II: Enrichment Learning at Home model which will start on Tuesday, April 14, and extend until PA schools are back in session.

How the district plans to provide students with learning at home opportunities within Phase II:

• Lexia – Reading App. This app will provide students with individualized learning paths. It will track student login time and the amount of work completed. Homeroom teachers will be keeping track of this information.
• IXL – Math App. This app will provide students with math activities pushed out via teachers. Similar to Lexia, this app will track student login time and the amount of work completed. Homeroom teachers will be keeping track of this information.
• Readworks.org – Reading Comprehension Website. This website will provide students with reading passages pushed out via teachers. This app will track completion of these reading passages. Teachers will be keeping track of this information.
• AR Quizzes (EXCEPT KINDERGARTEN) – Students may take AR Quizzes after finishing an AR book.

  If a student does not have a large selection of books at home, then we suggest the student uses the reading app EPIC! This app has a large warehouse of grade-appropriate books.To check if a book is an AR book, go to: https://www.arbookfind.com/

NOTE: ALL STUDENTS WILL USE GRADE-LEVEL LINKS TO ACCESS AT HOME LEARNING RESOURCES EVEN IF YOU HAVE MRS. FERGUSON, MRS. WEILER, OR MR. CLANCY.  ALL STUDENTS WILL STILL USE THE INDIVIDUAL LINKS TO ACCESS MRS. THEYS (ART), MR. LEAP (MUSIC), MR. BILCHAK (GUIDANCE), AND MISS DIEHL (SPEECH) RESOURCES.

Please continue to take the time to work with your students at home.  The District realizes that this is a difficult time for students and families, but it is imperative that students continue to work on reading, writing, and math skills!
