Financial Aid Information

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION

The paper form of the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) will no longer be available in the guidance office.  Parents and students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA online.  Seniors applying to college must use this form to access financial aid from the federal and state government as well as aid from some colleges. Financial aid will come in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans. Parents do not always realize that college loans from the government begin with the FAFSA.

Most colleges encourage students to use the electronic version of the FAFSA. The advantage of this is fewer errors and the turn around time for the Student Aid Report (SAR) is three or four days with the paper form, it is three to four weeks. The Student Aid Report indicates the eligibility for grants and Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The FAFSA can be found at FAFSA.gov . To sign the FAFSA electronically, students (and one parent) need an FSA ID. Apply for the FSA IDs at: fsaid.ed.gov

Some colleges and high schools offer FAFSA completion sessions. For a listing of those site, please visit the PHEAA website: PHEAA.org
