JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION ASSISTANT

 

 

Job Summary:           Provides Instruction Support, Training, and Resources in order to facilitate the use of technology in the Classroom. This is a 12 month, full-time position, with Single-only Health benefits.

 

Reports To:                Network Administrator/Building Principals


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree, supplemented by specialized computer courses and 3 to 5 years of experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  2. Experience working with education software preferred.
  3. Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computer hardware and software, office equipment, etc.
  4. Physically able to operate motor vehicles.
  5. Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  Physical demand requirements are for Light Work.
  6. Current Act 134, Act 151, and FBI Clearances as required by PA law, any other clearances that may be required by law or by the District
  7. Knowledge of PA laws and District policies
  8. Ability to analyze situations efficiently and objectively to determine a proper course of action
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students and staff, and the ability to relate well within the school community.

 

Duties and Responsibilities;

  1. Provide input in the development of District and Building Level programs that enable students to use technology as learning tools.
  2. Provide training to teachers in the use of technology to meet curriculum goals.
  3. Investigate and disseminate information on best practices for technology integration, sources of information, research and applications related to technology use in the school.
  4. Support District implementations, including STEM, 1:1 computing initiative, and any new implementations deemed beneficial by the District.
  5. Maintain current knowledge of technology and instructional practices that relate to the use of technology.
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of technology professional development.
  7. Assist with special projects, including STEM competitions, multimedia presentations, etc.…
  8. Assist District Network Administrator as a helpdesk and resource support as necessary.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
